Hi there!
I am Jaye
I loved auto shop in my senior year of high school. Getting my hands into an engine, grease and oil everywhere…it was just so much fun! Strangely enough, the guys in the class didn’t like having me there. I was moved into the yearbook class and fell head over heels in love — with film, with a Minolta camera, with the creative expressions possible in the darkroom. My ‘job’ was to document my school’s events, games, dances, and individual student’s accomplishments. I learned what to look for and how to shoot it to tell a story. I went from wanting to be a mechanic to wanting to become a professional photographer, or an artist like my dad. But life pulled me in other directions, and for thirty years, that part of me waited (not so) patiently.
After retiring from a long and rewarding career as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I gave myself permission to come back to photography and art. In 2015, I returned to school, immersed myself in art classes, film and digital photography — finding joy and purpose in painting, drawing, macro, landscape and wildlife photography. I feel like my 18-year-old self again — thriving with the freedom of creative expression.
I'm now confident with my artistic vision. I've become a storyteller with my camera. I am the artist I have always been — creating experiences not just for myself and the people I love, but for anyone, like you, willing to stop, lean in, and feel something.
I create images that stir emotions and memories, inviting you to linger a little longer. And when you're ready, bring them home.
